Traditional music around Europe
European communities used music as an instrument to pass cultural heritage from one generation to another.
Some thematics were specific to a geographic region and were present in diferent ethnic groups.
You may find that in the Balcans, popular music has common sound to Bulgarians, Romanians, Serbian and others. This spect is similar to other regions.
Popular dances are accompanying traditional music, bringing the joy of life to social gatherings.

Bulgarian popular music
Popular music from Bulgarian geographic area uses a large range of instruments like; gaida(a sort of bagpipe made of goat skin), kaval ( a sort of flut), tambura( a sort of lute with a long neck), tarabuka (a drum in a shhape of an hourglass).
Popular songs have different regional stiles with distinctive stiles.

Turkish popular music
Otoman popular music was developed aroud Istanbul and other important cities of the empire. Usualy the music is vocal, having the vocal artist in the center, surounded by a small instrumental ensemble.
Popular instruments used are: turkish tanbur (a sort of lute), ney( Turkish flute made of reed), keman (the violin) and others.

Italian music is known and loved, boasts of composers and artists of high level. The Italian musical tradition is also full of songs coming from Sicily, songs that talk about this wonderful island, its landscapes and its culture.

The very strong syncretism of Romanian folklore in general
determines a relationship of interdependence between folk dance
and music (along with this, and with the literary text sung or
sung). Folk dance cannot be conceived in the absence of the
music-text couple, the two ensuring its characteristic rhythm and
theme, through which researchers deduce the functionality of a
dance (the ritual to which importance is attached in that context).
